In hot and humid conditions for the first round of the Men’s Championship on Saturday, Stephan Scheepers and Zach Quirk returned the best scores with 4-over-par 76.
Defending Champion Glenn Esden was next best with 77, while Scott Mitchell and Steve Musgrave both shot 78.
In B Grade, Joel Archer has a 3 stroke lead after opening with 82 – ahead of Mark Cameron and Jayden Smee on 85, and Sam Duncan on 86.
Philip Robertson and Conrad Grabish share the lead in C Grade, after both shot rounds of 95. Allen Beahan sits in 3rd on 97, with Rob Burton and Rex Gillard next on 98.
The 2nd Round is to be played this Saturday – 25th March. After the 3rd Round on Saturday 1st April, the top 20 players in each grade will be seeded for the final Round on Sunday 2nd April.
