Jean Brkic and Jan Porter won their 5th MCGC Women’s Foursomes Championship yesterday, after shooting rounds of 92.43 for a 27-hole total of 135.
Kim Cummins and Silvan Phillips beat out Carol Cartwright and Cheryl Sutherland for the Runners-up prize on a countback – 3 strokes back from Jean and Jan.
The event was wide open after the first 18 holes, with Carol and Cheryl holding a narrow one stroke advantage. Four other pairs were within three strokes, before Jan and Jean stormed home with 43 for the final 9.
In all, 62 women took part in the event.
