{"id":10858,"date":"2023-03-01T16:16:40","date_gmt":"2023-03-01T06:16:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mtcoolumgolf.com\/cms\/?p=10858"},"modified":"2023-06-20T17:00:28","modified_gmt":"2023-06-20T07:00:28","slug":"mens-club-championship-commence-saturday-18th-march","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mtcoolumgolf.com\/cms\/2023\/03\/mens-club-championship-commence-saturday-18th-march\/","title":{"rendered":"Men&#8217;s Club Championship Commence Saturday 18th March"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Due to the growing membership here at Mount Coolum and the associated additional pressure on timesheets, some changes have been made to the Club Championship formats over the past year or two to ensure that as many participants can be accommodated as possible.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This will have an impact on the release of timesheets and booking availability for the timesheets being released NEXT FRIDAY 10th March \u2013 so please read on\u2026<\/p>\n<p><strong>WOMEN\u2019S CHAMPIONSHIPS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Women\u2019s Club Championship will be held later in the year, with the first round scheduled for Saturday 3<sup>rd<\/sup> June.\u00a0 Further information regarding the Women\u2019s Championship will be made available as we get closer.<\/p>\n<p>To facilitate maximum involvement in the Men\u2019s Club Championships, Women will not be able to book in for their competition of the day on the date of the first three rounds of the Men\u2019s Championships until 6:00pm on the Saturday, 7 days ahead.<\/p>\n<p>To illustrate this point, male members will be able to book at the kiosks on the Friday night night and Saturday morning (as usual), and online from noon on the Saturday, but female members will not be able to book (at the kiosks or online) until 6:00pm the Saturday.\u00a0 This still gives female Members 6 full days to book their Saturday game, but allows male Members access to the timesheets 24 hours prior to the female Members.<\/p>\n<p>We understand that this may require some juggling for those that wish to play in mixed groups.\u00a0 However, this is the most effective way to ensure that as many Championship competitors as possible can be accommodated.<\/p>\n<p>It is expected that there will still be spots available for female Members, but it is possible that there may not be sufficient spots to accommodate all of our regular Saturday women.<\/p>\n<p>Naturally, mechanisms will be in place for the female Members to have priority bookings when their Championship comes around in June &#8211; as was the case last year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MEN\u2019S CHAMPIONSHIP<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ELIGIBILITY<\/p>\n<p>The following categories are NOT eligible to WIN the Club Championships:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>40 Round<\/li>\n<li>Pay as You Play<\/li>\n<li>Country<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We respectfully request that these Members refrain from booking their round for the daily competition until 6:00pm on the Saturday \u2013 as per the female members restrictions.<\/p>\n<p>Should the timesheets look like filling up before this time, Members in the above categories may be removed from the timesheet to enable those wishing to play in the Championship to book.<\/p>\n<p>DATES<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Round 1 \u2013 Saturday 18<sup>th<\/sup> March<\/li>\n<li>Round 2 \u2013 Saturday 25<sup>th<\/sup> March<\/li>\n<li>Round 3 \u2013 Saturday 1<sup>st<\/sup> April<\/li>\n<li>Round 4 \u2013 SUNDAY 2<sup>nd<\/sup> April \u2013 for top 20 available qualifiers in each grade<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>EVENTS<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All rounds will be played from the BLACK MARKERS.<\/li>\n<li><strong>There will be NO white marker event for the first two rounds.<\/strong>\u00a0 This should ensure that all players that want to contest the Championships will be able to get on the timesheet.<\/li>\n<li>The March Monthly Medal \u2013 sponsored by PWP \u2013 Paddy Walsh Painting, will be played in conjunction with the first round.<\/li>\n<li>The April Monthly Medal \u2013 sponsored by PWP \u2013 Paddy Walsh Painting, will be played in conjunction with the third round.<\/li>\n<li>Only be the top 20 available players in each grade will contest the final round in a seeded draw.\u00a0 Please ensure that your calendars are clear to contest the 4th round should you qualify.<\/li>\n<li>All competitors are permitted to ride in golf carts<\/li>\n<li>There is NO up-front payment required.\u00a0 Members will simply pay the daily competition fee for each round.<\/li>\n<li>LOCAL RULES &#8211; Members are reminded that it is their individual responsibility to be familiar with the Rules of Golf and the Local Rules that are in play on any given day.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>TIMESHEETS<\/p>\n<p>The timesheets will be released at the normal times.\u00a0 Priority will be given to male members who are eligible to win the Club Championships.\u00a0 Female members, and male Members who are ineligible, have been asked to refrain from booking for the first 24 hours that the timesheet is available.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtcoolumgolf.com\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/CoC-030-Mens-Club-Championship-2023.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CLICK HERE for the Conditions of Competition for the 2023 Men&#8217;s Club Championship<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Should you have any concerns or need clarification of any of the above &#8211;
