The purpose of the Executive Day is to allow representatives of the PGA, Golf Queensland, Secretary/Managers, General Managers and Management Committees to meet and interact with each other to build relationships, and to improve the exchange [...]]]> Golf Management Australia (QLD Division) recently held their Executive Day at Lakelands Golf Club on the Gold Coast.

The purpose of the Executive Day is to allow representatives of the PGA, Golf Queensland, Secretary/Managers, General Managers and Management Committees to meet and interact with each other to build relationships, and to improve the exchange of information, understanding and communication throughout all levels of the golf industry.

And, of course, there is some golf involved too! This year’s winners of the 4Ball Stableford event were our own Sharon Purnell (Sec/Man) and Scott Mayes (Men’s Captain) with a credible 48 points despite the heavy rain. Unfortunately, our other pairing of Robert Gatt (President) and Peter Borham (Treasurer) could only manage 33 points on the excellent Lakelands layout. With just 3 more team points, Mt Coolum Golf Club would have again been the recipients of the prestigious Ted Coker Shield. There’s always next year!

The day concluded with dinner, and an information-packed presentation by internationally renowned social researcher and demographer, Mark McCrindle.

Later in the year, Mt Coolum Golf Club will be hosting the Sunshine Coast Executive Day. Board and sub-committee members from golf clubs across the Sunshine Coast will take part in the annual meeting.
